Tennis team wins 2 during busy week

The New Prague Trojan boys tennis team had a busy week, competing in five matches in five days. After dropping the first three, the Trojans recovered to take a pair of wins.

New Prague was scheduled to compete at Litchfield Tuesday, May 9, and will be at Mankato West on Thursday, May 11. New Prague wraps up the season Saturday, May 13, at the St. James Tournament.

New Prague will enter the Section 2AA team tournament Tuesday, May 16. pairings for the tournament will be determined this weekend.

Fire 4, Trojans 3 New Prague lost a close Wright County Conference match to Holy Family Catholic 4-3.

"It was a very close match that could have gone either way," Coach Robb Morris said. "But Holy Family was able to win at No. 2 singles to clinch the match."

Winners for New Prague were Logan Hallet in singles and in doubles the teams of Eric Morris/Jacob Washa and Josh Kassendorf/Bryce Berglund.
