Three FFA teams head to state

Three teams from Tri-City United’s FFA group are headed to state competition after placing first at the Region VII FFA compeition held in Montgomery on January 25.

According to ag teacher Lisa Hoefs, on January 25, TCU hosted some Region VII FFA events at the Montgomery American Legion for Forestry, Meats and Small Animal compeitions, and at the Montgomery Middle School Auditorium for the Fish and Wildlife competitions.

“TCU FFA members did very well!” said Hoefs.

The TCU FFA Fish and Wildlife Team, Small Animal Team, and Meats Team all placed first at the Region 7 competition. They will now participate in the state competition in April. 

Members of the Fish and Wildlife Team and their individual placings are Kyle Ellingsworth (2nd), Katie Gnerer (3rd), Travis Billmeyer (6th), Jordan Bartholomew, Jeremy Walerius and Justin Fogarty.

The Small Animal Team consists of Sara Fisher (3rd), Amber Balfe (4th), Allie Trnka (7th), Julie Trnka, Sarah Holicky and Katelyn Stasney.

The TCU FFA Meats Team is made up of Tadd Stasney (1st), Matt Holicky (2nd), David Trcka (4th), Brandon Billmeyer (5th) and Matt Tracy.
