Tigers sink Trojans in final dual meet

New Prague High School's girls swimming and diving team hosted their final dual meet of the season Tuesday, Oct. 13, against Farmington at the Montgomery pool.

The Trojans lost 94-84 to the Tigers, but in the process continued their improvement, with 26 personal best results.

New Prague had four first place finishes. They were:

• Laura Busch in diving (162.25 points)

• Cassy Panka in the 200 freestyle (2 minutes, 6.0 seconds)

• Panka in the 500 freestyle (6:38.03)

• 400 freestyle relay (Panka, Carly Ploumen, Jayme Prokes and Mikayla Beuch in a school record 4:16.19)

Placing second for New Prague was Beuch in the 100 freestyle (1:02.7)

Third place finishes:

• Ploumen in the 200 individual medley

• Beuch in the 50 freestyle

• Britin Thomsen in diving

• 200 medley relay (Prokes, Ali Becker, Dani Barten and Becca Duban)

• 200 freestyle relay (Ploumen, Beuch, Makayla Kurkowski and Panka)

Fourth place finishes:

• Alex Perkinson in diving

• Barten in the 100 butterfly

• Ploumen in the 500 freestyle

• Prokes in the 100 backstroke

• Becker in the 100 breast stroke

New Prague's next meet is the Missota Conference Championships Saturday, Oct. 31, at Northfield.
