'Tis the season for contests in The Times

Coloring Contest

The holiday season is here and it’s time for children to color it merry by providing color to the festive art found in this week’s edition of The New Prague Times. Our 2004 Christmas Coloring Contest can be found on pages 8-9A of this week's newspaper.

Eighteen area businesses are sponsoring the annual contest. There are three age categories for entries: age 4-under, ages 5-8 and ages 9-12.

Entries must be returned to The Times office by Thursday, Dec. 16, for judging. Winners will be announced in the December 23 edition of The Times.

Baby Contest

The Times’ First Baby Contest, will accept entries until 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at participating businesses.

There are 24 area businesses participating in this year's contest. Each business will donate a gift for the family of the first baby born in 2005 at New Prague’s Queen of Peace Hospital.

Readers can win by filling out one or more ad coupons for the contest, which can be found on pages 4-5B in this issue of The Times. Include the date, time and weight (tiebreaker) of the first arrival of the new year at Queen of Peace. The person closest to the actual time of birth will win $100 in New Prague Certificates, which can be used at any of the contest sponsors. Second place will receive $50 in certificates.
