Titan boys score big win over Sibley East 94-66

The Tri-City United Titan boys basketball squad put up some big numbers in a dominating win over Sibley East Tuesday night (Jan. 26) in Arlington.

Final score: Titans 94, Wolverines 66.

TCU 42   52--94

SE 29   37--66

Titan coach Ben Haugen was pleased with the overall play of his team.

“Our defense forced 18 turnovers, and it provided us great looks in transition,” said the coach. “Our decision making was really good, and we only had five turnovers and had five guys in double figures. Keegan (Oak) and Jackson (Feddema) did a great job of attacking and finding the open man. Carter (Rynda), Billy (Odenthal) and Devon (Jacobson) did a great job of finishing and rebounding. It was great to see the boys all clicking and playing to their potential.”

Leading the scoring parade was Feddema with 22 points, followed by Jacobson at 18, Odenthal 16, and 14 apiece for Rynda and Oak.

Odenthal cleared the boards with 10 rebounds, as Rynda added seven, Jacobson four, Feddema three and Sam Ehlers two.

Gavin Bates and Collin Pautsch each had 13 points for the Wolverines. The Titans had a huge second half (52 points) to put the game away. “In the second half we were up by 12 and Sibley East pressed us, but we executed well against the press and were able to get some great opportunities in transition,” said coach Haugen. “We are happy to get another win on the

road.”

Mayer Lutheran is the next opponent for the Titans, and coach Haugen said the team needs to work on being consistent with effort and execution the rest of the season.

“Playing well in the next game is our only focus,” added the coach.
