Titans take two from the Royals

Although their hitting was rough in the their first game against the Watertown Mayer Royals, the Titans won both games of their doubleheader over the visiting team on Monday, May 13 at Le Center.

“We did not hit the ball very well,” said Titan Coach Carol Lilla. 
Leading hitters were Sarah Holicky 2 for 3, scoring once and an RBI. Alyshia Angileno went 1 for 3 with a homerun and 2 RBIs. Kristen Jindra went 2 for 3.
Other Titans getting hits were Chelsey Walerius 1, and Jenna Bednar 1. 
Hannah Montreuil pitched seven innings for the Titans,  with 2 strikeouts, allowing 5 runs and 9 hits.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Lilla said the team’s hitting improved, an effort that was lead by Dani Angileno who went 3 for 4, scoring twice, a homerun and 3 RBIs.
Other leading hitters were Amber Brokl going 2 for 4 and scoring twice, Holicky going 2 for 4 scoring once and 2 RBIs. Bednar, Alyshia Angileno and Walerius each has a hit.
Alyshia Angileno was the winning pitcher going 6 1/3 innings, scoring 3 strikeouts and 3 runs. Montreuil was the relief pitcher going 2/3 of an inning. 
On Tuesday, the team travelled to Mayer Lutheran. Next Tuesday, May 21, the team will have its first playoff game.
