Trojan boys and girls take 2nd at Missota Track meet
New Prague placed second at the Missota Conference boys track and field championships Tuesday and Thursday, May 19 and 21, at Prior Lake High School.
Coach Nick Meyer said this was the best meet of the season for the Trojans, as they placed athletes in all but two events.
Three Trojan athletes placed in the top two individual and earned all-conference honors. Kyle Buro was a two-time all-conference athlete, placing second in both the triple jump (42 feet, 3.5 inches) and in the long jump (20-11.25). Drew Revak and Scott Jensen went 1-2 in the 800 meters. Revak finished in 2 minutes, 1.9 second and Jensen had a time of 2:03.35.
Three Trojan relay teams took first place, earning all-conference honors. They were the 4x800 relay (Nic Simon, Marty Herrmann, Jensen, and Revak) in a school and conference record 8:10.08, the 4x200 relay (Alex Dittberner, Nick Hirdler, Fabien Dubbe and Buro) in 1:34.64 and the 4x400 relay (Hirdler, Dubbe, Simon and Revak) in 3:28.85. All three relays ran their fastest times of the year.
Ben Dvorak earned honorable mention by taking third in the shot put.
