Trojan boys CC team is 6th at Eagan
New Prague High School's boys cross country team opened the season at the Dakota County Invitational Friday, Aug. 29, and took sixth of nine teams.
The Trojans' were led by senior Preston Tomlinson, who finished 10th overall with a time of 10 minutes, 49.3 seconds. Medallist was Lakeville South's Stu Lombardo, who finished in 10:22.6.
South won the meet with 56 points, edging host Eagan by two points. St. Thomas Academy was third with 87, followed by Farmington (112), Apple Valley (132), New Prague (157), Holy Angels (164), Hill-Murray (165) and Hastings (205).
The top five runners for the Trojans were all seniors. After Tomlinson, the next runner was Drew Revak (18th, 11:12.2), Neal Lambrecht (27th, 11:23.9), Marty Herrmann (47th, 11:52.5) and Tyler Starkey (55th, 12:36.6). Two freshmen rounded out the New Prague lineup. Zach Johnson (58th, 112:36.6) and Alex Hendricks (59th, 12:50.1).
Coach Nick Meyer said his team turned in a solid performance. We defeated conference rival Holy Angels and were within striking distance of the defending Missota champions Farmington
