Trojan boys earn split
New Prague High School's boys basketball team continued its up-and-down patterns, easily defeating St. Peter, then losing to Austin in a pair of non-conference games.
The Trojans (5-4, 0-1 Missota) were scheduled to play at Albert Lea Tuesday. On Friday they resume Missota Conference action with a game at Farmington at 7:30 p.m. They host Faribault in a makeup game at 2 p.m. Saturday, then host Red Wing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Trojans 62, Saints 27
New Prague jumped to a big lead against the winless Saints and kept building on it as they took a 62-27 win at St. Peter Tuesday, Jan. 9.
Tony Johnson led the Trojans, hitting five three-pointers to account for 15 of his game-high 18 points. Adam Michel was also in double figures for the Trojans with 10. New Prague got lots of scoring from its bench, with Eric Meger and Ben Litzau netting five points each, Marcus Pleiss and Colin O'Brien three each and Justin Stocker two.

Packers 50, Trojans 47
The Trojans and Packers were tied 26-26 through the first half of their game at Austin Saturday, and the contest remained close throughout, with the Packers taking a 50-47 win from the Trojans.
Johnson led all scorers with 19 points and was the only New Prague player in double figures. Sam Dittberner added nine and Danny Geiger eight for New Prague.
