Trojan boys win WCC East track title; girls 2nd
The New Prague Trojan boys track and field team won the Wright County Conference East championship with an impressive performance Tuesday, May 7. The Trojans scored 190 points, which was 74 better than second place Orono. In addition, New Prague had six first place finishes to earn all-conference honors. They were Caleb Smith (100 and 200 meters), Eric Chromy (110 hurdles), Erik Skie (discus), Alex Torp (Pole vault) and the 4x100 meter relay (Elijah Parker, Smith, Gaige Giles and Christian Velishek). New Prague also had six second place finishes.
The Trojan girls team placed second with 141.4 points, 12.3 points behind first place Waconia. The Trojans had three winners - Randi Allar (pole vault), Josie Herrmann (400) and the 4x800 relay team (Catie Skaja, Kate Chromy, Jenna Lambrecht and Herrmann). New Prague had six second-place finishes.
