Trojan girls' hoops streak reaches 7
The New Prague Trojan girls basketball team extended its winning streak to seven games last week with wins over Red Wing, Prior Lake and Mankato East. The Trojans (11-4, 5-1 Missota) are tied for first place with Holy Angels as the conference season reaches its midway point.
New Prague was scheduled to face Shakopee Tuesday, Jan. 30. They host Holy Angels Friday, Feb. 2, with first place on the line. On Tuesday, Feb. 6, New Prague travels to Hutchinson and on Thursday, Feb. 8, they host Northfield. The Raiders were the last team to beat New Prague on January 5.

The Trojans led by 12 at halftime, behind 11 points from Whitney Trecker and eight from Hannah Strop.
Trecker finished with 18 points, Strop 14 and Becky Theisen 10. Amanda Wagner added seven points for New Prague.

New Prague led by just five points at halftime, but the Trojan defense shut down Prior Lake in the second half.
The Trojans made 20 of 33 from the free-throw line, while Prior Lake missed all six of its attempts.
Trecker led all scorers with 22 points, while Theisen added 11, both Trecker and Theisen made seven from the free-throw line.

New Prague rode the hot shooting of Theisen to a 38-25 halftime lead. The senior had 15 points in the first half on her way to a game total of 19. Trecker scored 23 points for New Prague, with 11 of those coming from the line. Wagner added 12.
