Trojan girls lose 2 WCC matches

The New Prague Trojan girls soccer team dropped a pair of Wright County Conference matches last week, losing to Waconia and Watertown- Mayer.

New Prague (3-7, 2-2 Wright County Conference) was scheduled to host Rockford Tuesday, Sept. 19. They are on the road Thursday, Sept. 21, at Delano for a 7 p.m. game and at Rochester Century Saturday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. New Prague hosts Hutchinson Tuesday, Sept. 26, and will be at Orono Thursday, Sept. 28.

Wildcats 5, Trojans 0 New Prague lost a 5-0 decision Tuesday, Sept. 12, to Waconia, one of the top teams in the Wright County Conference. “I thought that we played well, but Waconia was able to convert their chances, while we weren’t,” said Coach Matt Anderson. “Overall, I am still happy with our effort, and our willingness to improve.” Anderson said Angeli Breiner has done a great job on the Trojans’ back line. “She gives us a lot of flexibility because she can play anywhere,” he said. “Izzy Hendren has also provided us with a lot of energy.”
