New Prague grabbed a 15-point halftime lead and made it hold up as they handed the Stars an 81-69 win Tuesday.

Trecker sank 11 field goals, including a three-pointer, and sank 17 of 25 free throws for New Prague, as Holy Angels pulled out all the stops while guarding her. For her performance, Trecker was named KARE-11 TV's Athlete of the Week.

Trecker wasn't alone in the scoring column, as Becky Theisen chipped in 16 points.

New Prague attempted 44 free throws in the game, making 29 of them. Holy Angels made just seven of 16.

Trojans 38, Tigers 37

After scoring 81 points against Holy Angels, the Trojans had a tougher time finding the basket two nights later as they edged Hutchinson 38-37.

Ten minutes into the game, the score was tied at 5-5. The two teams played tough defense. Every time one team would try to start a run, the other would come up with a big defensive stop.

New Prague had some success with its transition game, as they used a stifling defense to force a number of Tiger turnovers, leading to fast break baskets. By contrast, New Prague had trouble with its half-court offense, as Hutchinson packed in a tight zone defense that invited the Trojans to shoot from the outside. New Prague wasn't able to hit from long range, though, making just one three-pointer.

The lead changed hands several times in the second half. New Prague had a run that put them up by six points with about 10 minutes left, but they couldn't hold on to it.

The Trojans took the lead for good when Brit Rynda hit from close range with 2:35 left. Hutchinson got the ball inside on the next posession, but Trecker blocked the shot.

New Prague had the chance to add to their lead with a one-and-one with 7.5 seconds left, but missed the first free throw. Hutchinson got the rebound and called time out with 3.6 seconds left. They brought the ball downcourt and missed a three-pointer at the buzzer.

Trecker led the Trojans with 10 points and Rynda and Theisen added seven points each.
