Trojan girls start season strong

The New Prague High School girls golf team has started its season with three top-three finishes. New Prague finished second to Red Wing at the season-opening Missota Conference tournament, took first at the Faribault Invitational, and third at the Irondale Invitational.

The Trojans will compete Thursday, April 22, at a Missota meet in Farmington, then host the New Prague Invitational Friday, April 23, at CreeksBend GC. Other teams competing are Bloomington Jefferson, Lakeville North, Lakeville South, Mankato West, Orono, Waconia and Rochester Century.

New Prague competes in the Prior Lake Invitational at The Wild's GC on Tuesday, April 27, then compete in a Missota Conference meet at Mississippi National in Red Wing Thursday, April 29.

At Emerald Greens GC.

New Prague played well in its first match of the season, but not well enough to beat Red Wing. The Trojans shot a 344, five strokes behind the Wingers' 339. Northfield and Hutchinson tied for fourth at 386, followed by Prior Lake (397), Shakopee (415), Holy Angels (430) and Farmington (470).
