Trojan girls take 3rd place at state hockey tournament
New Prague’s girls hockey team recovered from a first-round loss to Holy Angels and went on to defeat Alexandria 4-0, Saturday and capture third place at the State Class A girls hockey tournament. Holy Angels won the championship.
Dana Merhar, Ashley Jones, Kacy Ambroz and Jodie Jabas scored goals in the third place game. Jenna Kilpatrick had two assists, and Ambroz and Jessie Doig had one each. Daedra Culshaw had the shutout in goal.
The Trojans finished the season with a 24-6 record.
