Trojan softball off to mixed start

The New Prague Trojan fastpitch softball team is off to a 2-3 start after splitting a pair of non-conference games and then taking fourth in the Mankato West Tournament last week. The Trojans were scheduled to face Holy Family on Tuesday, April 19. They host Delano at 4:30 p.m. Friday at New Prague High School. New Prague travels to Minnetonka on Monday, April 25, hosts Hutchinson on Tuesday, April 26, and travels to Orono on Thursday, April 28.

Giants 4, Trojans 2 New Prague managed just two hits against Le Sueur- Henderson and lost a 4-2 decision to a strong Giants team.

LSH scored a run in the first inning and added two more in the fourth to take a 3- 0 lead.

New Prague scored twice in the fourth to cut the lead to 3-2. Taylor Koehnen singled and was forced at second on a grounder by Yvette Hanson. Mia Kraimer reached on an error and with two outs, Megan Giesen also reached on an error to bring in two runs.

Koehnen and Taylor Hustad had the only two hits for the Trojans.
