With one upset under their belts, the New Prague Trojan volleyball team will aim for two more this week, as they enter the Section 1AAA semifinals.

The Trojans, seeded No. 7 in the 18-team field, squeezed past No. 10 Waseca in a 5-game shootout Wednesday, Oct. 26, then traveled to No. 2-seed Owatonna Friday, where they upset the Huskies.

The Trojans will face No. 3 seed Faribault at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. The two teams met August 30, with the Falcons winning in three games. The other semifinal game has No. 1 seed Lakeville North taking on No. 4 Rochester Mayo. The championship match will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, also at the Mayo Civic Center. Lakeville has won five of the last six section championships, with the exception being 2001, when New Prague placed second at state.

The Section 1AAA champion plays the Section 5AAA champion at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Trojans def. Bluejays

New Prague struggled at times against a scrappy Waseca team, but outlasted the Bluejays in a marathon match, winning 25-20, 25-27, 25-12, 18-25, 16-14.

Lindsay Rybak and Camille Kratochvil definitely carried us through this match offensively
