Trojan wrestlers beat Lakers, lose to Mother Nature
The New Prague Trojans lost five matches without hitting the mat last week, as mother nature kept them pinned at home for a triangular at Farmington Friday evening and from the Eastview Invitational on Saturday.
The Trojans did manage to get in a match Thursday at Prior Lake, with New Prague coming home with a 54-24 win over the Lakers.
The Trojans are scheduled to compete in a triangular at Northfield Thursday, Jan. 27, along with Richfield. On Saturday, they will compete in the Robbinsdale Cooper Invitational, a match that was added to the schedule.
On Tuesday, New Prague will host a home triangular with Le Center/Cleveland and Mankato East. That match will be held at the New Prague Middle School gym.
The Trojan's match at Farmington will be made up on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
Trojans 54, Lakers 24
New Prague won nine of the 14 matches to easily handle the Lakers on Thursday, Jan. 20.
The Trojans scored pins by Mike Minette (112 pounds), Shane Nelson (125), Andy Shetka (135), Justin Turek (145), Eric Olson (152), Cody Lines (160), Matt Arens (189) and Jake Schoenecker (215). They also got a forfeit win by Travis Rutt (119).
