Trojans break tie to beat Cats
New Prague's adapted floor hockey team broke a 3-3 tie in the third period to defeat Burnsville/ Farmington/Lakeville 5-3 on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
The Trojans face Owatonna in a make up game on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 4:30 p.m. at the CEC gym in New Prague. New Prague travels to Hudson, WI, on Thursday, Feb. 18. New Prague hosts Dakota United Monday, Feb. 22.
New Prague had a 3-1 score after the first period against Burnsville/ Farmington/Lakeville. Goals for the Trojans were from Adam Jeurissen unassisted, Alex Palma, assisted by Matthew Schoenbauer and Schoenbauer unassisted.
The Blazing Cats scored two goals early in the second period to tie the game.
New Prague's defense closed things up in the final period as Schoenbauer broke the tie with an unassisted goal with less then six minutes left in the third. Jeurissen cushioned the lead with an assist from DJ Gilder.
Trojan goalie Marcus Schoenbauer won the battle for the net, making 32 saves as New Prague made 25 shots on goal.
We out hustled them to the puck and played with great intensity
