Trojans hold on for 1-point win in opener

In their season opener, the New Prague Trojans showed some offensive firepower in the first half, then overcame mistakes in the second half to take a 21-20 win over visiting St. Michael-Albertville (STMA) Friday, Sept. 2.

The Trojans got two touchdowns from junior Tony Kubes and one from junior Darin Geyen as they staked themselves to a 21-7 halftime lead. The team continued to move the ball in the second half, but a couple of big turnovers by the Trojans and big plays by the Knights kept STMA in the game.
