Trojans pull away from Tigers in 4th quarter
Last week's cold temperatures forced the cancellation of school on Friday, and with it the home Trojan girls basketball game with Northfield. That game will be made up Saturday, Feb. 19.
New Prague did get in a game with Farmington Tuesday, Jan. 11. The Trojans defeated the Tigers 51-42. The team is 8-4 overall, 3-1 in the Missota Conference prior to Tuesday's game with Mankato West. On Friday, the Trojans play at Prior Lake and on Tuesday, Jan. 25, they are at Shakopee

New Prague and Farmington were tied 12-12 after the first quarter and tied again at 28-28 after the second.
In the third period, the Trojans opened up a two-point advantage, and stretched it in the fourth quarter to a 9-point win.
Mandy Haecherl came off the bench to lead the Trojans in scoring with 16 points. She hit a pair of three-pointers in the second period, when she scored 11 points to keep the Trojans in the contest.
New Prague took advantage of opportunities at the free throw line, making 16 of 26. Farmington made only three of seven from the line.
Katie Theisen added 10 points for New Prague.
The Trojan junior varsity defeated Farmington 76-19. Britt Anderson had 16 points, Kate Gerdes 15, and Jessica Sirek and Laura Knoke had 10 each.
