Trojans run over Lakers
The New Prague Trojans went to 4-0 on the season with a 28-10 win over Prior Lake in New Prague's Homecoming football game Friday, Sept. 25, at Trojan Field.
The Trojans jumped to a 14-0 lead. Tony Schmitz and Ryan Haugen scored the first two touchdowns for New Prague. After a Prior Lake field goal, the Trojans countered with a 2-yard run by Haugen. That was set up by a 57-yard run up the middle by Cal Oldenberg, making it 21-3 at halftime.
The Lakers scored on a 69-yard pass late in the third quarter, but the Trojans answered quickly. Austin Bachman, who also had two interceptions, returned the ensuing kick 55 yards to the Laker 25 and Haugen scored on the next play to make it 28-10.
New Prague (4-0, 3-0 MIssota) are tied with Hutchinson for first place in the Missota Conference. They travel to Northfield (2-2, 2-1 Missota) for a 7 p.m. game Friday, Oct. 2.
