Trojans struggle at Mayo

The New Prague Trojan football team could not get its offense on track against an aggressive Rochester Mayo defense as the Trojans lost 24-0 to the Spartans.
New Prague had a net minus-16 yards of total offense, thanks mostly to nine quarterback sacks by Mayo.
After a scoreless first period, Mayo scored 10 points in the second quarter and added two more touchdowns in the second half to claim the win. One highlight for the Trojans was two blocked field goals by Connor Scharf.
New Prague (2-5, 1-3 Big Southeast Red) close out the regular season Wednesday, Oct. 18, when they host Owatonna (6-1, 3-1). The Huskies were ranked No. 1 in Class AAAAA going into Friday’s game, but lost to No. 5 Northfield on a touchdown in the final minute. Game time is 7 p.m. at Trojan Stadium.
