Trojans take 3rd in 'Black Friday' Invitational
The New Prague Trojan girls hockey team opened Missota Conference Tuesday, Nov. 24, dropping a heart-breaker, to Shakopee 4-3 with one second remaining in overtime. The Trojans then took third place in the New Prague Black Friday Invitational Tournament, losing to Rogers and defeating Dodge County.
New Prague (2-3, 0-1 Missota) was scheduled to play at Prior Lake Tuesday, Dec. 1. They host St. Peter/Le Sueur-Henderson Thursday, Dec. 3, then host Northfield on Thursday, Dec. 10.
Sabers 4, Trojans 3
The Shakopee Sabers just beat the buzzer Tuesday, defeating New Prague 4-3 with less than one second remaining in overtime. Shakopee outshot the Trojans 42-18, but goaltender Shyler Sletta kept New Prague in the game, making 38 saves. New Prague's goals came from Jamie Bisek (assisted by Hallie Paschke and Brook Bartelt), Bartelt (Bisek) and by Lindsay Paschke (unassisted).
The girls played an all around great game and really showed a lot of determination
