Trojans top Litchfield in WCC dual
The New Prague Trojan gymnastics team won a Wright County Conference dual meet Thursday, Jan. 11, defeating Litchfield 136.2-124.975.
"It was certainly not our best meet," said Trojan Coach Doug Amundsen. "The scores seemed a little low, but we didn’t perform well either."
New Prague’s Emmalyn Dickerson was injured on her first vault, which took her out of the rest of the meet.
"She is one of our more consistent allarounders so that hurt some of our scores and sucked the air out of the room," Amundsen said.
"Tina Shimota and Allie Eischens were once again consistent on their strong events, Allie had a little hiccup on floor, but recovered very nicely,” the coach added.
On vault, the Trojans took the top three spots. Shimota was first with a 9.35, with Caitlyn Pint second at 9.0 and Sophie Guerrette third at 8.7. Grace Montgomery scored 8.45 and Dickerson had an 8.4.
