Tschimperle, Shetka selected for All-State Choir

Matthew Tschimperle and Andrew Shetka have been selected for membership in the Minnesota Music Educator's Association (MMEA) All-State Mixed Choir for the 2004-05 school year. Their director at New Prague High School is Rita Sapp.

Tschimperle and Shetka were two of 573 students selected from more than 2,200 who auditioned last spring for a position in one of the MMEA All-State performing groups. They attended a summer camp at St. John's University in Collegeville August 2-7, where students had the opportunity to work with some of the finest conductors and music educators in the country. They finished the week with a concert on August 7.

In addition, the students will gather in February in Minneapolis for rehearsals and a performance at Orchestra Hall.

This was Tschimperle's second year in the All-State choir. Last year, he was a member of the All-State Men's Choir. During the weeklong camp, he was selected as a talent show participant.

Tschimperle and Shetka are seniors at New Prague High School. Their parents are Mike and Margaret Tschimperle and Matt and Meg Shetka.
