Two arrests made in Lonsdale thefts

On Monday, July 19, police arrested Troy K. Anderson, 19, and Matthew R. Vlasak, 23, both of Lonsdale, on four felony counts involving theft, and one count of damage to property.

The report filed with the Rice County Sheriff's Office states that the Lonsdale Police had been investigating a string of burglaries at local businesses.

The police obtained a full theft report from Great Wrench Owner Ron Johnson, which included serial numbers of tools that were taken.

It was discovered Vlasak had sold three tools at a pawn shop in Bloomington matching the description of the stolen tools listed by Johnson. The pawn shop provided police with Vlasak's address and documentation of other tools he had pawned over the past few months.

On July 1, Lonsdale Police were notified that Anderson had also pawned five tools, some of which matched those listed by Johnson.

During questioning Anderson provided information about several burglaries involving himself and Vlasak that occurred in Le Sueur, Scott and Rice counties. Both Anderson and Vlasak were booked into the Rice County Jail.
