Update - Crash victim identified
The Minnesota State Patrol has released the names of those invovled in a fatal crash between New Prague and Jordan Monday, Dec. 26.
Calvin S. Robnik, 53, of New London, died when the 2007 Chrysler Sebring he was driving collided with a 2013 Volkswagen Touareg driven by Christpher J. Shimek, 51, of Prior Lake. The Crash occurred around 5:25 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 21 (Helena Boulevard) and Scott County Road 8 (220th Street). The Touareg was westbound on 220th and the Sebring was southbound on 21 when they collided at the intersection.
Shimek suffered what the state patrol called "non-life threatening injuries" and was transported to St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash near the intersection of Highway 21 and Scott County Road 8 (220th Street) between New Prague and Jordan.
The crash occurred about 5:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26. According to the state patrol web site, two vehicles were involved and there is at least one fatality. The "Police Clips" twitter feed was reporing that both vehicles had rolled over, the highway was closed and an accident reconstruction specialist was on the scene. Police from New Prague, Jordan, Belle Plaine and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
No other information has been released at this time.
