Verena “Vi” Moriarity, 89

Verena “Vi” Moriarity, 89, of Forest Lake, died peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013.

Vi was born on June 29, 1924, in New Prague, a daughter of John and Adeline Schoenecker. She lived many years in Minneapolis, and was employed for 20 years by Norwest Bank, now Wells Fargo. Vi was active in Resurrection Catholic Church, and volunteered at the school. She was also active in the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, golfing, playing cards, gardening, sewing, and attending her grandchildren’s soccer, baseball, basketball and lacrosse games.

She is survived by children Joseph “Joe” (MariaLuisa), Kathleen “Kathy” (Mike) Tekautz, and Margaret “Peggy” (Robert); grandchildren Conor (Anna) Tekautz, Dylan Tekautz, Garrett Boldt and Jessica Boldt; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, July 17, at 10 a.m., at the Church of the Nativity of Mary in Bloomington.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m., at Gill Brothers Funeral Home in Bloomington, and one hour prior to Mass at church.
