Very snowy Sno-Bowl lives up to its name
There was enough snow for this year's Sno-Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Memorial Park in New Prague as more than a foot of snow covered the ground during the 48th annual football game between the Polars and the Ptarmigans, which ended in a 6-6 tie.
It was the second consecutive year that the game played by teams of New Prague High School alumni ended in a 6-6 tie.
However, the weather for this year's game was far different than last year's game, which was played on frozen ground with very little snow and temperatures were in the high 30s.
This year, temperatures remained in the low- to mid-20s December 29 and about six inches of snow fell on Tuesday, Dec. 25, adding to the snow that fell earlier in the month.
