Vikings in Scott County?

The Minnesota Vikings stadium saga has taken a southerly trip into Scott County.

Shakopee mayor Brad Tabke and other city officials have scheduled a press conference for 4 p.m Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the state capitol a proposal for a stadium at the abandoned ADC site, near Valleyfair in Shakopee. The property owner has signed a letter of intent to sell the land for a possible stadium.

ADC was in the process of constructing a new building when the company filed for bankruptcy in 2001, and the building was never finished. The Vikings are reportedly still pursuing their Arden Hills proposal, but have this site as a backup plan.
