Volleyball team takes 3rd at Farmington Tourney

New Prague took third place in the 16-team Farmington Invitational volleyball tournament Saturday, losing to state-ranked Owatonna in the semifinals, then beating Lakeville South in the third place match. They went 3-1 on the day. Two days earlier, they lost a four-game match to Missota Conference rival Shakopee.

New Prague is scheduled to play at Holy Angels Thursday, Sept. 22. They will be at Mankato East on Tuesday, Sept. 27, and host Hutchinson Thursday, Sept. 29.

Sabers def. Trojans

After Shakopee dominated game 1, the Trojans looked better the rest of the way, leading in each of the next three games. But they were unable to maintain a consistent effort and lost in four games, 25-13, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19.
