Weather puts spring sports in holding pattern

Poor weather and field conditions have kept New Prague High School sports teams indoors for most of the spring, and it has resulted in the postponement or cancellation of three events so far.

Trojan baseball and softball games scheduled for Thursday, April 4, were postponed last week, since the fields were not expected to be playable. The Trojans’ home baseball game with Chanhassen was reschedule for April 23 at 4:30 p.m. The New Prague softball team’s game at Chanhassen was postponed to May 1, also at 4:30 p.m.

A four-team track meet also scheduled for April 4 at Trojan Field with Mankato East, Northfield and Red Wing was cancelled.

The boys tennis match at Albert Lea was still on as of Wednesday morning.
