Webster Harvest Days offers plenty of events

There will be plenty of events, crafts, games and food during the annual Webster Harvest Days Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 27.

Webster is in northwestern Rice County, about nine miles east of New Prague on Rice County Road 3.

Saturday's events begin with a softball tournament at 8 a.m. A craft show, flea market and concession stands will be open throughout the day. One of the festival's highlights is the crowning of the Miss Webster royalty. This year's ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m.

At noon there will be children's entertainment, a euchre tournament, an antique tractor pull and Absolute Power Entertainment. At 12:30 p.m. is a Motorcycle Ride-In Bike Show.

Also on Saturday will be karaoke/D.J. Entertainment. A silent auction will be held with the time still to be announced. At 5 p.m. Webster will have its first ever wrestling match, and from 8 p.m. to midnight Plain White Toast will provide music for dancing.

The softball tournament continues on Sunday at 9 a.m. The concession stands, craft show and flea market continue. A church service will be held at 10:15 a.m. and the Grand Parade will be held at noon. Traditionally the parade starts at the east end of town on County Road 3 and travels west to the Webster Community Park.

From 1:30 p.m. on there will be a variety of events including the Ernie Stumpf Polka Band, a pie contest and auction, children's entertainment, bingo, the kids power peddle tractor pull and a horseshoe tournament.

At 3:30 p.m. music will be provided by D.J. C&N Sounds and at 4 p.m. is a raffle drawing for a 2006 Polaris four-wheeler.
