Wilford Meinke, 85
Wilford Meinke, 85, of Webster, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Wilford was born in Webster on September 14, 1927, a son of Paul and Marie (Oldenberg) Meinke. He married LaVer Matthees on November 21, 1948, in Fairhaven, MN. Wilford was a lifelong farmer in the Webster area, and was also formerly employed by the Webster Co- Op. He loved his Sunday drives and anything sweet.
He is survived by two children Bruce Meinke, Faribault, and Betty (Douglas) Aabel, Delano; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a sister Ella Halverson, Northfield; sisterin- law JoAnn Meinke, Webster; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife on August 27, 1977; and two siblings Richard and Dorothy Meinke.
Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster on Monday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Donavon Riley officiating.
Interment was at the St. John’s Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m., and also at the church for one hour prior to the services on Monday.
