Wind storm causes minor damage in area
The high winds and rain that battered most of the midwestern United States Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 26 and 27, caused some minor damage in New Prague, but fortunately nothing major.
The storm resulted in a record low barometric pressure being recorded in Minnesota, and the resulting high winds made for an interesting night of football in New Prague and throughout the state on Tuesday.
The only reports of damage were a large tree uprooted at Czech National Cemetery, a large branch falling on a shed and clothesline at the Dr. John Richter home, and a streetlight toppled over near Schumacher's Hotel and Grille 212.
