Winners emerge at Royals Tournament

 

Some of the Tri-City United wrestlers were victorious at the wrestling triangular at Watertown Mayer High School on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Winners for the Titans were Mason Brownlee at 138 and Josh Selly at 160 who both won by fall.  
“Watertown has a very deep and experienced team and wrestled very well,” said Titan Coach Brian Mikel. “We came out very lethargic and they took it to us in this match.  Hopefully we learned we need to be more mentally prepared against very tough opponents.”

The other team the Titans took on was the Rockford Rockets. 
Winners for the Titans included Zach Mikel by pin at 106. This was Mikel’s first career varsity win. 
Jonah Johnson, Levi Nelson, Mason Rutt, and Mason Brownlee all won by forfeit.
Max and Marko Arroyo and Josh Selly all won by pins.
“Rockford had several forfeits, but we came out and wrestled much better this match,” the Titan coach commented. “Hopefully we can take this momentum into the weekend tournament at Minnehaha Academy.”
