Wrestlers win 2 at home meet
New Prague hosted Farmington and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown/Janesville-Waldorf/Pemberton in a triangular meet and won both matches. The wins upped the team's record to 17-8 on the season.
The Trojans have just one match this week, at Northfield Thursday, Feb. 3.
Trojans 66, Tigers 14
New Prague won 11 of 14 matches, with the Trojans getting 10 of their wins by fall.
Getting pins for the Trojans were Logan Kass (103 pounds), Griffin Parriott (112), James Berg (119), Morgan Parriott (130), Sam Duncan (135), Luke Ritter (152), Alex Mueller (160), Logan Giles (171), Nathan Preston (189) and Brandon Svoboda (285). Jesse Tuma got the other New Prague win, by forfeit.
Three of the Trojan wins, by Morgan Parriott, Ritter and Mueller, came in under one minute.
Trojans 54, Grizzlies 20
New Prague won 10 of 14 matches and had little problem with the visiting WEM/ JWP.
The Grizzlies earned a major decision to take a 4-0 lead, but the Trojans responded with six straight wins to go up by a 30-4 score.
Winning by fall for the Trojans were Berg (119), Morgan Parriott (135), Bryor McGuiggan (140), Ritter (152), Giles (171), Preston (189) and Tuma (215). Griffin Parriott (112) and Richard Reinartz (125) both earned decisions.
