Young figure skaters earn awards

Two of the New Prague Area Figure Skating Club's youngest members, sisters Lilly and Bella Schulte competed for their first time recently, bringing home some awards.
The two, daughters of Mike and Kristi Schulte of rural Jordan, with their coach Heidi Enter participated in a competition in New Ulm. There were 13 clubs represented with 150 skaters participating.
The girls competed separately and together. Among the events they took part in individually were stroking, with Lilly in an Alpha program with music. The sisters also participated together in a jump and spin competition and couples spotlight.
Lilly received second place in the Alpha program and stroking as an individual. Both received fourth place in individual stroking.
As a team, they won first place in both low level couples jumps and spins and couples spotlight.
Lilly and Bella attend Falcon Ridge Elementary School in New Prague, where Lilly is in the third grade and Bella is in second.
The two will be among the members of the New Prague Area Figure Skating Club's ninth annual spring show on Saturday, March 10, at 4:30 p.m. at the New Prague Area Community Center. The show is free and open to the public.
