Zweber, Weiers to play in All-Star football game

Nick Zweber and Brad Weiers, recent New Prague High School graduates, will take part in the 35th annual Minnesota High School All-Star football game at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 28. The game will be played at Husky Stadium on the campus of St. Cloud State University.

This is the 29th year the game will feature the Metro All-Stars vs. the Outstate All-Stars. After 28 games, the Outstate All-Stars led the series 15-13. Last year the Outstate All-Stars defeated the Metro squad 27-14.

Zweber, who is listed as a linebacker, and Weiers, listed as a tight end, are competing on the metro squad.

The All-Star football game showcases outstanding senior players from the 2007 high school football season. The 89 players and 12 coaches who will participate in this year's game represent 75 schools and 33 conferences. They were selected by members of the Minnesota High School Football Coaches Association.

The players and coaches reported to training camp at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter Sunday, June 22.
