Fire department is called to Casey’s
The Waterville Fire Department responded to a call at Casey’s General Store in Waterville on Tuesday morning, December 26. According to store manager Betty Gilmore, two firemen were in the store when smoke began entering the building. The fire department was called for safety reasons. “It was nothing serious,” Gilmore reported. “We had a little smoke and it was checked out. I’m not sure if it had something to do with the power outage that we had from 11:30 last night until 6:30 this morning or the cold, but we’re okay now, just cold.”
Following the smoke incident, the local gas station and convenience store was left without heat.
