National Night Out events set for Tuesday

National Night Out (Night to Unite) will be held Tuesday, August 1.
The 19th annual Elysian National Night Out will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Francis City Park.
There will be a free meal consisting of hot dogs, chips, and a drink, door prizes, bounce house, music by Crista Bohlmann, and Scoops Ice Cream. Elysian Fire Department, Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Posse, North Ambulance, and Elysian Rescue Squad will be on hand to answer questions. This Elysian Area Chamber sponsored event will be held at the Elysian Fire Hall if there is inclement weather.
The annual event in Waterville will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Waterville Maintenance Building. Firemen and police officers will be among those on hand to chat with residents, along with emergency management personnel and possibly a medical helicopter. There will also be a free meal consisting of hot dogs, chips, a drink, and even a root beer float.
The Morristown Commercial Club and the Morristown Fire Department will be sponsoring the National Night Out event this year at the American Legion pavillion from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A Rice County Deputy will be there for kids of all ages to talk with, ask questions and get to know the officers that take care of our town. The Morristown Fire Department will be serving hot dogs, the American Legion will offer beans and potato chips and you can finish with a root beer float from the volunteers of the Morristown Commercial Club. The Legion also brings in Kona Ice for all to enjoy.
