Clinch 13-60 League Championship Indians down Morristown and MN Lake

A pair of 13-60 League wins for the Waterville Indians amateur baseball team clinched the league title for the local squad.

The Indians defeated Morristown, 11-1, Wednesday, July 21 in a game which had been rescheduled three times due to weather. They finished their league schedule with a 2-1 win over Minnesota Lake Friday, July 23.

In the win over the Morries, Nolan Grose settled into his designated hitter spot in the line-up and apparently it suited him fine. He finished the night 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four runs batted in, and three runs scored.

Every Waterville starter, except one, had at least one hit. Dalton Grose matched his older brother with three hits. Riley Schultz and Sam Stier each added two hits in five at bats. Shane Sellner hit a two-run homer in the six-run sixth inning.

The Morries were led at the plate by No. 3 hitter Bradley VanDeinse, who collected four hits in four at bats. Kyle Green added two hits in three at bats. Bryan Lamont had a hit and scored the lone Morristown run.
