Lee Morsching, 62

Lee Morsching, age 62 of Waterville, passed away unexpectedly while doing what he loved on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Born in Faribault on March 13, 1960, Lee was the son of Nelmer and Lorraine (Schwichtenberg) Morsching. He was baptized at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church as a child, and was later confirmed by Rev. Roth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville. He attended school in Waterville and graduated with the class of 1978. He went to work for Unimin in Ottawa for several years, and during that time began his own business, Morsching’s Tree Service.

On May 30, 1987 Lee was united in marriage to Jeannie Jones at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville. As a younger man he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. As his family grew, however, his love for them and for his business took much of his time. He absolutely adored his wife and sons, and he was so proud of them and their families. He was blessed with two grandchildren and he loved to spend time with them as they grew.

Lee is survived by his wife, Jeannie of Waterville; three sons, Tanner (Liz) Morsching of Waseca, Spencer Morsching and his girlfriend Megan Deppe of St. Cloud, and Hunter Morsching and his fiancé Maddy Meskan of Waterville; three grandchildren, Alaina and Braxton Morsching of Waseca and one baby on the way; three siblings, Darrel Morsching of Waterville, Anita (Dan) Orr of Elysian, and Richard (Wanda) Morsching of Waterville; and his beloved yellow lab, Gunner. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and his father-in-law, Clarence Jones.

Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service, and continued for one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, with Rev. David Mumme officiating. Interment followed at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Cemetery.
