Loretta Gene (Brown) Jones, 93

Loretta Gene (Brown) Jones age 93, of Waterville, Minnesota died peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024, in Osceola, Wisconsin, surrounded by family.

Born on May 10, 1930, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of George and Pearl (Hartman) Brown. As a child, Loretta grew up in Saint Paul, where she met her future husband, Donald Myron Jones. Loretta and Donald married on June 12, 1948, and had five children. Loretta ran a daycare out of her home for many years, and during the summer, she would work at the Minnesota State Fair. Loretta was actively a part of The Good Sam Club and the Red Hat Society. After she retired at 62, she and Donald would travel in their RV and volunteer in their local community at The Village in Waterville, Minnesota.

Loretta is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years; parents; 2 sons, Dean in infancy, and Gary; and brother George Allen Brown. She is survived by her children Neil (Marsha) Jones of South Saint Paul, Jean (Leland) Kendrick of Osceola, WI, and Wayne (Teresa) Jones of Minneapolis; daughter-in-law Rose Jones of FL; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Grandstrand Funeral Home of Osceola, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
