WEM hires new middle school principal
Eagan resident Myles Knutson was introduced Monday, July 22 as the newest WEM Middle School Principal during the Board’s regular July meeting.
Knutson has more than a decade of experience in the field of education, most recently as the Differentiation Specialist at Prior Lake-Savage School District.
After graduating from Mankato West High School, he attended St. Cloud State University, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. He continued his schooling and earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato and his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, also from MSU-Mankato.
Knutson started his teaching career as a 5th grade teacher at Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial in 2013. In 2014 he moved to Highland Elementary School in Apple Valley where he continued teaching 5th grade.
During this time at Highland, Knutson also served as the 5th grade Team Leader which included working with other building leaders to implement best practices, organize events, and problem solve in order to execute his school’s and district’s vision.
