Mahlon J. Pikal, age 88, of Montgomery, died peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home on Monday, April 30, 2018.  He was born on March 20, 1930, in New Prague to James J. and Emma (Trcka) Pikal.  Born and raised in the New Prague area, Mahlon attended Le Sueur County District School and graduated from New Prague High School.  He married Rose L.

Caroline (Carolyn) Dvorak, 90, of Montgomery, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, at her home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
 

Ralph J. Weiers, age 92, of Union Hill, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center.  Ralph was born on September 24, 1925, in Derrynane Township, Le Sueur County, to William A. and Josephine (Barten) Weiers.  He lived his entire life in the Union Hill area where he attended St. John’s Catholic School.  After his marriage to Helen M. Irene A. Unger, age 85, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at her home. Irene was born on September 28, 1932, in Montgomery to Frank J. and Emma A. (Shetka) Ambroz. She grew up in rural Montgomery and attended Le Sueur County District School. She moved into New Prague and worked as a nanny for Warren and Bonnie Vollmar for many years before marrying her husband, Albert F. Unger on October 13, 1951 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
