Sandra "Sandy" Marie Gilhousen, age 79, of Montgomery, died on the evening of Friday, May 23, 2025, at Traditions of Montgomery.

Sandra "Sandy" Jelinek, age 78, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, May 14, 2025, at Oak Terrace Senior Housing in Le Sueur.

Mamie Katherine (Kopet) Knish was called into God’s loving embrace on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, surrounded by her family at Central Health Care.
 She was born on February 17, 1931, to parents James Frank and Johanna Marie (Trcka) Kopet in Montgomery Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and attended Catholic school in Montgomery. Mamie was a graduate of the Class of 1948 from Montgomery High School.

Merlin James Plonsky left this world peacefully on March 19, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by his family at Central Health Care in Le Center. Merlin was born on April 24, 1945, to Peter and Cecelia (Konopik) Plonsky. He grew up in Montgomery and graduated in 1963 from Montgomery High School.
 He was united in marriage to Carmen Dalsted, on May 8, 1965. He started his career as a professional painter alongside his father-in-law and later went on his own as Plonsky Painting.

Rhoda Ann Duffney, age 93 of Montgomery, died in the early morning of Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Faribault Medical Center.

Robert “Bob” Ernest Sapp, of Le Center, passed away March 12, 2025, at St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, Minnesota.

Marietta "Toots" Kukacka, age 95, of Montgomery, died in the early morning of Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. 

Linda Lee Herrera, age 70, of Montgomery, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at her home on Green Leaf Lake in rural Montgomery.

Marilyn Agnes Miller, age 86, of Montgomery, died at Mala Strana Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center in New Prague on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Jerry George Herrmann left this world peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on June 25, 1938, in New Prague, MN, to Jerry and Mary (Tikalsky) Herrmann of Lonsdale. He grew up in Lonsdale, graduated from New Prague High School in 1956 and the University of MN School of Pharmacy in 1962.

Joel Edward Kukacka, age 73, of New Prague, died on the evening of Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

George "Sonny" John Pomije, Jr., age 87, of Montgomery, died on the evening of Friday, January 17, 2025, at his Traditions of Montgomery home.

Mary Jane Dahl, 92, of Fargo, formerly of Willmar, died Wednesday, January 15 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20 at Church of St. Mary in Willmar with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will be in Clover Leaf Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.hafh.org

Arnold J. “Buck” Zahratka, age 99, of Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Traditions of Montgomery.

Helen Emma Vosejpka, 88, of Lonsdale, died peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Helen was born on March 7, 1936, in Rice County, to Joseph and Cecilia (David) Sirek. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1954. On June 16, 1955, Helen married her High School sweetheart Robert F. Vosejpka at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.

Gladys Christine Soulek Nickolay, age 93, of New Prague, died on Tuesday, December 31, 20204, at Traditions of Montgomery.  Gladys was born on May 3, 1931, in Montgomery, to Vendelin and Emma (Zoubek) Soulek.  She was one of seven children and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1948.  She married Charles “Rock” Nickolay on September 9, 1950, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.  Gladys and Rock celebrated 65 years of marriage shortly before Rock died in 2015.
