Colima Market offers specialty items, fresh Latino favorites
Rich spices, authentic tortillas, tempting treats, unique beverages, and fresh Latino foods are available at Montgomery’s newest business, Colima Market.
The market, which is located at 208B 1st Street North, is owned by Gaylord residents Saul Cardenas and his son, Eric. Their family members are currently helping them run the store, which opened December 20, 2020.
“My dad has always wanted to own his own little store. That’s why he came here,” stated Saul Cardenas’ daughter, Diana Everett. “This is him living out a part of his dream, and I’m happy to help with things until they can be here full time.”
Cardenas was born and raised in the southwestern Mexican state of Colima and migrated to the United States when he was about 17 years old in hopes of living the American dream—a dream that included Cardenas working hard, and one day, owning his own business.
