COVID cancels TCU playoffs
TCU is out of the playoffs.
According to TCU Activities Director Chad Johnson, although the kids and coaches were doing the right things regarding COVID-19 protocols, they lost the battle of staying Covid clean.
“TCU will unfortunately have to remove itself from the 2020 Football playoffs. We are disappointed we will not get to have our matchup with Fairmont on Tuesday night,” Johnson said on Monday.
The activities director said the TCU coaches did a great job of keeping the kids in their “pods,” unfortunately a player in the TCU QB/WR/DB pod tested positive for the virus.
“So that group had to be shut down. We have enough kids to play … but you can't teach a kid to be a QB/WR or DB and one day,” Johnson said. “We are proud of our kids and coaches on a great season. We wish all remaining teams good luck as your season continues.”
